発電所の概要

前田川発電所は、福島県須賀川市前田川男滝にある東北電力株式会社が所有する小さな水力発電所です。
明治39年（1906年）に運用を開始しました。当時、戦争に備えるための電力を管理するために国の管理下に置かれていましたが、終戦後に東北電力へ引き継がれました。
運用開始から110年も経過していますが現在も稼働しています。
