熊牛発電所

発電所の概要

熊牛発電所は北海道新得町に位置し、昭和62年（1987年）11月に運用を開始しました。
新得町は「人の数より牛の数の方が多い豪雪地帯」といわれているほかに、「電源の町」としても有名で、新得町には合計で7つの水力発電所があります。取水は屈足ダム（十勝川）で、このダムの用途は水力発電とかんがい用水となっています。
