碇発電所　土木遺産に認定されている赤レンガ作りのモダンな発電所

発電所の概要

碇発電所は、秋田県鹿角市にある三菱マテリアルが管理している水力発電所です。
レンガ作りのモダンな外観が目を引くこの碇発電所は、明治40年（1907年）2月に運用開始し、その面影を現在も残しており、2005年に（公社）土木学会により歴史的土木建築として認定されています。
当時は出力480kW（横軸フランシス水車）で運転していましたが、その後、更新をして現在は1,800kWとなっています。
