発電所の概要

本郷発電所は、福島県大沼郡会津美里町船場にある東北自然エネルギー株式会社が所有する水力発電所です。
取水源は阿賀野川で、地元の要望を受け、かんがい用水を利用した発電所として昭和32年（1957年）に運用開始しました。
その後、老朽化により2017年8月から大規模な改修工事を行い、2019年11月25日に運転を再開しました。
この改修工事により、これまで複流フランシス水車だったものを単流フランシス水車に変更したり、主要な変圧器の絶縁油に植物由来のナタネ油を採用してCO２削減を図りました。
