発電所の概要

本道寺発電所は、山形県西村山郡西川町月岡に位置する、東北電力株式会社が所有する水力発電所です。
平成2年（1990）年に運用を開始しました。
取水源である寒河江ダムは、県内最大の多目的で、ダム湖百選にも選ばれています。
ダム周辺は、スキー場などリゾートとしても整備がされており、観光資源にもなっています。
本道寺発電所は、地下にあるため、GoogleMap の航空写真で見ても建物を確認することができません。
寒河江ダムから取水し、発電に使われた水は地下にある放水路を通って下流にある水ヶ瀞ダムへ流れ、水ヶ瀞発電所でも使われています。
